A Commitment to Compassion: The RTA Store & The Sato Project

Through this collaboration, we aim to support their mission of curbing the stray dog overpopulation crisis in Puerto Rico and rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding loving homes for these deserving animals.

The Sato Project

The Sato Project was founded in 2011 and has since rescued over 7,500 dogs from the streets and beaches of Puerto Rico. The term "sato" refers to the mixed-breed street dogs found on the island.

We started our rescue efforts at Dead Dog Beach in Yabucoa, a notorious dumping ground for unwanted dogs and the site of Hurricane Maria’s landfall in 2017. Today, our efforts have expanded to include community outreach alongside adoption, with the inception of #OperationSato, a free spay/neuter/vaccination program offered to families in PR. Your donation goes directly towards Operation Sato and our other program areas.
