Shaker
Shaker took her Freedom Flight on July 5th, 2020. Thank you to all of her Foster From Afar donors for helping us change her life forever.
Shaker was found abandoned on Dead Dog Beach with her six siblings right after two large earthquakes (including one 6.0) in under twelve hours shook the island. This litter of seven had clearly been neglected for most of their short lives. They were infested with fleas and ticks. Their bellies were round and distended from parasites. Yet their tails were still wagging and they seemed to know that we were there to help them. All of the ‘Quaker puppies’ were originally scheduled to take their Freedom Flights in March. Seismic, Quake, and Tremble were lucky enough to take theirs just in time. But poor Magnitude, Tremor, and Shaker were scheduled for the third week of March - the week that all flights had to suddenly be canceled due to new Covid-19 restrictions. So they had to stay in Puerto Rico for a bit longer.
Thanks to your support, Shaker was finally able to take her Freedom Flight and now lives on Long Island where she has a family who loves her. She has a large bed to sleep on, and acres of land to run around on and explore. As soon as she stepped off the airplane in New Jersey, she was excited and ready to start the new and happy life that she deserved.
See Shaker at her Freedom Flight and in her new life below.
