Roma
Roma took her Freedom Flight on June 3rd, 2020. Thank you to all of her Foster From Afar donors for helping us change her life forever.
This bite-sized sato was rescued on Dead Dog Beach with her sister Adore. They were dumped in a plastic crate, without food or water, and without their mother. Someone abandoned them to an uncertain fate, then drove away. We scooped them up and our dedicated team in Puerto Rico hand-raised them. Adore and Roma are the sweetest sisters who love to be held and snuggled. It broke our hearts to see them growing up in a vet clinic and not able to fly to their families who were so ready to welcome them.
But then in June, the stars aligned for this lucky little girl to fly first class. COVID-19 live-animal cargo restrictions were still in place; however, small dogs were allowed to fly in-cabin. One of our longtime volunteers happened to be visiting family in Puerto Rico and she offered to transport a sato back with her on her journey home. Roma was the perfect candidate.
Roma arrived to her new home at 2:30am, got a few hours of beauty rest in her new bed, and then awoke to a new dog sibling and three human siblings who were so excited to welcome her to the family. They had all been waiting for her for nearly three months. See the gallery below for photos of Roma’s very first day in her new life!
