3 weeks. 4 airplanes.
236 lives flown to safey before the worst hurricane season ever in history.

Puerto Rico’s worst fears have arrived. Experts officially predicted September through November 2020 to be the most threatening hurricane season ever recorded.* While we cannot control what happens over the next few months, we can control saving as many lives as possible in advance. Thanks to the support of our community that’s exactly what we did.

Over three weeks and four airplanes, our team, along with our partners Wings of Rescue and GreaterGood.org, flew 240 dogs and cats from Puerto Rico to the East Coast. The final two planes landed on Saturday, August 29th, just in time before peak hurricane season.

Normally, ‘Mission Possible’ is a term we reserve only for our biggest Freedom Flight of the year. But, as you know, there is nothing normal about 2020. An extraordinary year requires an extraordinary response, which is why our tiny team embarked on a second 'Mission Possible' so soon after completing Mission Possible 11. From July to August, The Sato Project flew 519 dogs and cats to safety. This is the largest amount of animals we have ever flown within two months.  None of this work would be possible without the support of our incredible community.

We’d like to say a special ‘thank you’ to our group of generous donors (including Tracy and Andy Warren) who provided the $35K in matching funds for Mission Possible 12 and all our donors who helped us reach our fundraising goal.

Thank you for helping us save lives.
