Alanza
your support as a ‘foster from afar’ will help change this sato’s life forever.
Our rescue team first spotted Alanza on the side of the road, hiding in tall jungle grass. When we approached her, she was very scared and ran away. We were heartbroken that we could not catch her, as we could tell she was in dire need of help. We kept a close eye, checking the same spot every morning and night for three days. Finally, we saw her again. She was curled up in a ball, fast asleep, and barely visible in the grass. We slowly lured her with food and brought her to safety.
Poor Alanza was in such deplorable condition we were unsure she would survive. Her skin was raw with mange and her coat was only growing in small patches. She was emaciated, had an eye infection and was dangerously anemic. Her tiny body (she only weighed 6.6 lbs) was being eaten alive by parasites, fleas, and ticks. We named her Alanza, which means ‘ready for battle’, because we knew she had a long fight ahead of her, in order to survive.
Within 48 hours, this incredible little girl soon proved that she was indeed a fighter. One day at time she built up her strength, gained weight, and her beautiful brindle coat started to grow back in. Two months since her rescue, Alanza is even nearly ready for adoption. However, her journey is not over yet. She still has some remaining vetting care to complete before she can take her Freedom Flight to a new family. Alanza would love your support as a Foster From Afar to help cover her remaining veterinary care and boarding costs during this final leg of her journey.
In exchange for any gift of $24 or more, you’ll receive a special digital postcard and a link to download a printable, foldable card. You can print the postcard for yourself to show off your foster dog or give the greeting card to a loved one as a gift to let them know that a grateful sato was fostered in their honor. We’ll also keep you in the loop of Alanza’s progress. Just like an in-person foster, you’ll be among the first to know when she finally completes her recovery, flies to a new family, and has all her dreams come true.
