This year marks a significant milestone for us – our 13th year of operation! We're thrilled to celebrate this achievement alongside you, knowing it wouldn't be possible without your unwavering support. Thanks to your generosity, over 7,500 dogs have been rescued, rehabilitated and adopted.

Over the last year, seven Freedom Flights have successfully transported over 470 lucky satos to their forever homes and aided our multiple amazing shelter partners on both the island and the mainland. Additionally, your contributions have provided vital supplies like vaccines, surgical equipment, lifesaving Parvovirus treatments, microchips and 4DX snap tests for our on the ground efforts.

Here's a glimpse of what we've accomplished with your support:

Within the last eight months, The Sato Project has expanded our approach to rescue– by tackling the overpopulation crisis that plagues Puerto Rico. We recognized the critical need to address the root cause of the island's overwhelming dog population explosion. This is why we launched Operation Sato in November 2023, an initiative providing FREE spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and microchips for dogs on the island.

If we can continue to fund these clinics then we can significantly decelerate this population boom.

Since its inception, our team of vets, volunteers and staff that I call Team Sato has successfully served over 2,100 dogs, with a goal of 3,000 by year's end.

Our fourth Operation Sato, June 22-24, marked another step forward in our crucial mission.

Your support has empowered us to expand our definition of rescue and pursue the long-term vision of a future where fewer satos suffer on the streets of Puerto Rico.

This requires a one-two punch approach: mass spay/neuter/vaccine events with Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) programs alongside adoptions to diminish the population and reduce the number of satos who must suffer. Thank you for believing in this mission, joining the fight for these remarkable dogs, and building a future for the satos of Puerto Rico. I look forward to sharing further details and success stories in our annual Program Report.

The fight for Puerto Rico's satos isn't over, but together we can make a lasting difference! I invite you to reach out to my dedicated Development Team should you want to deepen your impact and fuel our mission: every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference. Harry Berberian and Eden Russo can help you explore a variety of giving options, including sponsorships, planned giving, partnering with your company to host a fundraising event, matching gift opportunities or joining our Impact Committee.
