Gypsy
Gypsy took her Freedom Flight on July 5th, 2020. Thank you to all of her Foster From Afar donors for helping us change her life forever.
Gypsy had never had it easy. When we laid eyes on this weary drifter, it was plain to see that life had been an uphill battle. Her teats were swollen and leaking milk, so we assumed she must either have been pregnant or had recently given birth. But there were no puppies to be found, nor did x-rays reveal they were on the way. So this battle-scarred mama had either miscarried or her babies did not survive. To add insult to injury, her skin was so enveloped in mange that she cried out in pain while scratching herself raw. Despite it all, Gypsy gingerly crawled towards us as if begging to be rescued, tail low and submissive, but wagging excitedly. She was treated for both a TVT – a sexually transmitted, but treatable, cancer – and an aggressive skin and ear fungus. It was a very long road to recovery, but this beauty had a new life waiting for her.
Thanks to your support, Gypsy was able to make a full recovery from all of her health issues and has left that life long behind her. After landing on her Freedom Flight, she was transported by a volunteer up to her forever family who couldn’t wait to welcome her. Gypsy immediately settled in and made a very fast adjustment to her new life. Now, not only does she have her own comfy bed to sleep in and lots of toys to play with, but she is completely in love with her new mom and dog sister, Madeline.
