You can DOUBLE YOUR DONATION today!

For Mission Possible 17, we are flying another 45 satos at the end of July to families who love them and will keep them healthy and safe. However, the high number of unspayed and unneutered dogs in Puerto Rico is the single-most significant barrier to the crisis of overpopulation. We cannot rescue our way out of the animal welfare crisis on the island.

The streets of Puerto Rico are home to approximately 500,000 stray dogs, all destined to face starvation, contract diseases, and risk being struck by vehicles, ultimately resulting in prolonged and agonizing deaths.

Spaying and neutering is the single most impactful approach to diminish the number of stray dogs suffering. It attacks the crux of the problem—unwanted litters being born.

This is why, right after our Freedom Flight, we are partnering with Cathy Bissell and BISSELL Pet Foundation to organize OPERATION SATO, a 6-day, free-of-charge event where we will perform spay and neuter procedures on over 1,000 owned satos in Puerto Rico.We know from experience that high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter events, that include vaccines and microchips, is the best way to service as many dogs as possible.

We have secured $60,000 in matching funds for Mission Possible 17 to cover some of the costs for this massive spay/neuter event. Thanks to KeepingFinn, Titos Vodka for Dog People, The Rosemont Foundation, Jose Mendez, Sydney Hale Co.,The Candice and Noah Feinberg Foundation and a group of donors who wish to remain anonymous, ALL DONATIONS WILL BE MATCHED up to $60,000. This means, if you donate today, your gift will be DOUBLED $1 for $1.

Details:

  1. If you donate on our website, including this page, before midnight on August 15th your local time, your donations will go towards our matching fundraiser!

  1. If you pay with a check and it’s dated August 15th, 2023 or earlier, and we receive it after August 15th, it will still count towards our matching fundraiser!

OPERATION SATO

$115,919 $120,000

In Puerto Rico, the high expenses associated with spaying and neutering make it difficult for pet owners to afford these procedures, thereby worsening the problem of overpopulation. The financial strain associated with a pregnant animal causes owners to abandon the helpless mother and her puppies on the streets.

One pair of unsterilized dogs can be responsible for 67,000 puppies over a six-year period. This is because young satos can start reproducing at just 6 months old. Through Operation Sato, tens of thousands of satos will be spared from being born into dangerous conditions, if you help us.

If we reach our goal of receiving $50,000 in individual donations, the full DONATION MATCH WILL BE UNLOCKED and we will receive a total of $100,000 in DONATIONS! This will help fund Operation Sato and fight against overpopulation at its core.

Operation Sato will take place at the Fernando "Rube" Hernández Collesium in Gurabo, Puerto Rico on November 1-6, 2023.

Veterinarian surgeons will be flying in from all of the United States and all will be donating their time and expertise. All surgeons are trained in high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter, vaccine, and microchip events. We are incredibly grateful for them donating their time. But we need YOUR help to make this possible.

Will you consider making a tax-deductible gift and doubling your dollar to help alter the fate of Puerto Rico’s satos?
